Welcome to Jim Agnew's Literary Website and Book Reviews. Jim Agnew has been booking and producing talk-radio shows since 1992. He was co-creator of American Crime Line with Ed Nowicki; and booker for Ed Buggs in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Geoffery Feiger in Detroit, Michigan. (Ed Buggs was found dead in his home in Baton Rouge. I booked his afternoon radio show, "Buggs In The Afternoon". My first show! He will be missed! (see Google). 

Jim also is a world-class literary researcher whose clients have included Vincent Bugliosi, Dan Moldea, Bill Zehme, Gus Russo, Bill Kurtis, Jonathan VanMeter, the late Bill Roemer, Nick Pileggi and Nick Tosches. The late Pulitzer Prize award winning columnist Mike Royko referred to Agnew as " the finest researcher of crime in America". He has been profiled in the Chicago-Sun Times, The Chicago Reader and a chapter in the Nick Tosches Reader (DaCapo). Jim considers his booking duties as an unheralded art form and his clients, such as Bill Zehme, brilliant beyond belief.

The author of the best-selling Frank Sinatra book The Way You Wear Your Hat (1997) was the last journalist to interview the late Johnny Carson, for a newsmaking June 2002 Esquire profile of Carson in retirement (Carson Esquire), and his book will provide the deepest  understanding to date of the comedian's personal life and cultural impact.

Reclaiming History won the 2008 Edgar Award...Best True Crime...Mr. Bugliosi's third win in that category. BRAVO!!! Much of the book was based on Bugliosi's preparation for a mock trial of Lee Harvey Oswald staged by British television, in which he acted as the prosecutor of Oswald, and obtained a verdict of "guilty"
